Putrajaya Safe City Background
SAFE CITY is defined as a city that is free from PHYSICAL, SOCIAL and MENTAL threats.
The Putrajaya Safe City Program was established in 2004 on the instructions of the cabinet which met on 28 January 2004 with the aim of creating a safer urban environment and a city free from the Threat of Crime.
In 2009, under the Government Transformation Program (GTP, seven (7) National Key Results Areas (NKRA) placed the Safe City Program in the Crime Reduction NKRA led by the Ministry of Home Affairs. PLAN Malaysia acts as the secretariat of the Malaysia Safe City Program.
THE SAFE CITY PROGRAM is a crime prevention measure to ensure that crime rates in urban areas can be reduced and enable residents to live in a comfortable and safe environment.
The 11th Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) is “To make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable.
